A week in Puglia...

Some time last year I came across the Ostuni Workshop in Puglia, put on by the very talented Italian wedding photographers Gianluca & Mary Adovasio and just knew I had to go.  I had been dying to see that part of Italy for some time and this was simply the perfect reason.  After a few months on the Amalfi Coast, the stars aligned and I was off to see this special part of Italy.

Puglia has completely stolen my heart... Little towns by the sea, mountaintop villages, and ancient olive trees as far as I could see.  I felt like I could just stay there and be happy forever.  The Ostuni workshop only added to the magic of this region for me, as I had a week there to rest, be inspired, and meet the most interesting photographers from all over the world.

The realness of each presenter there was refreshing.  Some laughed, some cried but all seemed to wear their heart on their sleeves.  Their collective overall message was that perfection is boring, each wedding is unique and that capturing the emotions and essence of one's wedding day is more important than re-creating popular wedding photo cliches.  This was just what I need to hear, as I have grown oh so tired of perfection...
